Trump urges Putin to 'STOP!' after deadly attack on Kyiv

At least 10 people were killed and more than 90 injured in the massive Russian attack launched Thursday morning, as the United States pushes for progress in talks to end the war.

US President Donald Trump has warned that he is unhappy with Russian bombings in Ukraine and has demanded that Russian President Vladimir Putin stop them.

"I'm not happy about the Russian attacks on Kyiv. They are unnecessary and unwelcome. Vladimir, ENOUGH!" the Republican president wrote on his social media account, Truth. "5,000 soldiers are dying every week. Let's get a peace deal!" Trump added in his message.

Serious Attack on Kyiv

The US president thus condemned the Russian missile and drone attack launched on Thursday (April 24, 2025) against Kyiv, one of the most serious in recent months. According to Ukrainian sources, ten people were killed and more than 90 injured in several districts of the Ukrainian capital, where residential and commercial buildings were destroyed, although the Russian Defense Ministry denied hitting civilian targets.

Disputed Crimea

Since US President Donald Trump returned to power in January promising to end the war in Ukraine, there has been little outpouring of frustration with the Russian side like today's, compared to the constant criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On the eve of this latest attack, the Republican again accused Zelensky of obstructing peace negotiations with his outright refusal to recognize the Crimean peninsula, occupied since 2014, as Russian territory. According to US media, this recognition is one of the demands the White House made of Ukraine as part of its proposed peace plan.
